What is The Tweed Economic Development Corporation?
The Tweed Economic Development Corporation Ltd (TEDC) is an independent company, limited by guarantee, established by the Tweed Shire Council in 1997 to provide leadership and direction to the development of sustainable economic growth in Tweed shire.
The TEDC is governed by a Board of nine independent Directors, representing broad and diverse business and professional backgrounds, and three appointed directors representing professional staff and elected representatives of Tweed Shire Council.
The TEDC is the peak economic development organisation for the Tweed Shire and its function is to represent the interests of the broader business community, by initiating and encouraging broad and diverse business and investment growth across all Tweed industry sectors.
The TEDC approaches its task in a professional and diverse manner by presenting the facts on the structure of the local economy, by informing policy development at the local government level, and by initiating projects and proposals which encourage and facilitate, sustainable, job generating economic activity.
