Who are we?
The Tweed Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) is an Independent Company Ltd by Guarantee, established by Tweed Shire Council in 1997 to provide leadership and direction to sustainable job generating economic growth in Tweed shire.
The TEDC is governed by an independent board of 9 directors elected from a business membership base and representing a diverse and broad range of business, commercial and professional backgrounds, and 3 council appointed directors representing professional staff and elected representatives.
The TEDC conducts economic, population demographic and other related statistical research which is used to inform the TEDC approach to economic development and which is also readily available to existing and potential new business and investor wishing to grow, expand or establish new or existing businesses in Tweed shire.
TEDC is seen as the first point of contact for new businesses wishing to establish, relocate or expand to the Tweed, and assists potential new investors by providing valuable information as part of the due diligence evaluation process.
TEDC also provides advice and information to Tweed Shire Council, which assists in the development of sustainable economic strategic planning policy and direction for the Tweed shire; Actively promotes and markets new investment opportunities in the Tweed; and Communicates with a range of government agencies to promote sustainable economic strategic outcomes in the Tweed Shire.
